Half Load Season - March 1 to April 30, 2026
The half-load season on certain municipal roads runs from March 1 to April 30 each year. Trucks are subject to reduced load restrictions in line with the Highway Traffic Act and By-law 2009-045. These measures aim to safeguard roads and bridges from potential damage during the spring thaw and prevent the formation of severe potholes, cracking, and deformation that occur when heavy vehicles travel on softened, saturated roads. Certain exemptions may be requested. For further information and the half-load map, please visit our Public Works page on our website at: https://www.bayham.on.ca/municipal-office/public-works/
The Municipality of Bayham office will be closed for Easter on Friday, April 3rd and also Monday, April 6th, and will reopen Tuesday, April 7th at 8:30am for regular business hours.
For any roads, water or sewer emergencies, please call our after-hours emergency line at 519-435-6454.
Enjoy the Easter long weekend!
The Municipal after-hours drop box is temporarily unavailable due to construction.
During regular business hours, please bring all payments/documents upstairs to the Municipal Office or use the doorbell to the right of the main doors and someone will come down to assist you.
If you require any other accommodations, please call our office at 519-866-5521 to arrange.
Our apologies for any inconvenience.
The Long Point Biosphere Region was selected for funding by the Canada Water Agency to develop a Resilience Action Plan for the north shore of Lake Erie, from Port Glasgow to Long Point. Key goals of the plan are to restore natural shoreline processes and increase resilience to coastal hazards. For more information please go to: www.northshoreresilience.ca
The North Shore Resilience Project is currently seeking applicants to sit on the Public Advisory Committee (PAC). The PAC will help shape the North Shore Resilience Action Plan by communicating the priorities and values of communities and stakeholders, as well as providing feedback on the technical investigations and restoration projects. The PAC members will also act as community ambassadors who further disseminate information on coastal processes and ecosystem restoration opportunities in their communities.
