The next Census of Population will take place in May 2026. To support this important project, Statistics Canada is hiring for supervisory and non-supervisory positions. Approximately 32,000 jobs are available across Canada!  

Statistics Canada is looking for local people to help collect accurate data in our community. This data is vital for planning and evaluating programs and services such as education, health care, childcare, housing, emergency services, roads, public transportation and job training.

The County of Elgin has planned work for Glen Erie Line for 2026–2027. This year, the focus will be on completing slope work and culvert widening. In 2027 the focus will be road reconstruction.

The Curbside Bulk Garbage Program runs in the months of April, May, July, September and October with a $25/load fee.

The first curbside bulk garbage pick-up for this year is scheduled for Monday, April 13, with a registration and payment deadline of Tuesday, April 7.

NOTE - Online registration and fee paid to the Municipal Office is required at least 1 week prior to the pick-up date. Only those who complete the registration form and provide payment by the deadline will be included on the list.
